Kara was born and raised in rural Wairarapa, New Zealand, spending her childhood on a medium sized sheep and beef farm just north of Masterton, then moving with her family into urban Masterton at the age of 15. Kara credits spending her formative primary-aged years living on a farm as giving her the work ethic, perseverance and down-to-earth nature that have stood her in good stead in life.
While having gained a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree (Finance) at Massey University in the 1990's, Kara feels that it has been her work experiences that have contributed most to her growth. Starting out as a Customer Service Team Member at KFC in Masterton at the age of 15, Kara quickly learned the skills needed to provide excellent customer service, as well as the importance of using a "tried and true" system. From then on, Kara has applied her positive, smiley and hard-working attitude in all aspects of life, and all employment opportunities. Having worked in areas including travel, outdoor adventure guiding, for the National Agricultural Fieldays Society, and in Farm Business Coaching she now has over 25 years of customer service experience, including administration and management roles, in many fields. Kara has played key roles in developing and driving systemised office processes and customer service delivery, is a skilled trainer in many fields including customer service, systems utilisation and administration, as well as outdoor education and instruction.
Married to Brendon for 20 years, together they developed the Growfarm® System, utilising the 3 Step Growfarm® Profit Formula. Their mission - grow leadership, strength and passion in the rural communities of the world!
